23 Week Scan

We had yet another photo shoot for Andrew yesterday - lol. He measured perfectly and took pleasure in kicking the camera every time the doc got a little too "fresh." He had no bashfulness this time in flashing his Man Parts! He was in a sitting position and flashing his stuff for the world to see! There was NO mistaking them this time!

I was a little bummed to not have Jerry with me, but my mom gladly filled the spot! He is just about 2lbs and about 1/2 the length he will be at birth! It is amazing he weighs so much already. I still have only gained 9lbs this entire pregnancy and I am just amazed! It must be all belly and baby! Jerry and I just can't believe this is all going by so fast!! It feels like it was just yesterday that we found out we were prego and now I am 6 mos along! I know time is just going to be an even bigger blur once he is finally here! When the Doc told me I only had two more office visits left before I went to seeing her every two weeks instead of once per month, I flipped! So soon!

So now we are gearing up with birth classes and taking hospital tours and finishing up the nursery! Our shower invites go out any day now and I just can't believe it! By the end of Feb. my fabulous 2nd trimester will be gone - and I am gonna miss it!

On another note, my In-Laws struck again! They surprised us with our Glider in the mail! So all the furniture for Andrew's room is officially purchased and assembled! It looks soooooooo cute!

Now we are just waiting for the shower to add all the finishing touches! It is SOOOO hard to resist buying stuff ourselves, but I guess focusing on bill catch-up can keep us honest! lol! Oh and we have snapped a few new belly pics! Check em out below!

Can't Stop Smiling

I found out today that another person close to my heart got what she has wanted most of all - a positive home pregnancy test! And I couldn't feel more happier! When you struggle to get pregnant and stay pregnant - a win for a friend, becomes a win for you as well!

Last year (Jan 31st) Jerry and I found out that our first pregnancy was no longer thriving and our world just came crashing down around us. I can still recall the raw pain I felt as if it just happened yesterday. I suppose it is a scar that never completely heals - it only gets less visible on the surface as time passes. At the time I couldn't make sense of why it was happening to us, to me - or what was the point of it all. It seems cruel to give someone such a precious gift, only to take it away.

I turned to an online chat forum for Suffer&Loss at Baby-Gaga.com. I unfortunately found a LOT of other ladies whom were continuing to suffer or just newly suffering like me. Lisa was one of them. We had miscarried within a week of each other and out of all the gals that I had met - I bonded with her the most. We "healed" together even though we live on opposite sides of the country. We got to know one another, support one another and try to make sense of it all. And when we started to TTC again - we were there for each other as well - laughing all the way. We jokingly belonged to a group of ladies called the "Clomid Clique." Over the months we all compared notes on our cycles, our side effects, our triumphs and defeats - let me tell you, it was a hell of a ride!

I however, only belonged to the CC for 1 cycle before getting my second chance at pregnancy - but Lisa wasn't so lucky. She went through 4 more months and with each month I "saw" my friend losing hope and will and it killed me! She was becoming distant and withdrawn from the whole community and I just felt terrible! I wanted my struggle to remind her to keep positive. But how can you convince someone to stay positive on a subject that has only given them grief?!

That is why I am TOTALLY stoked for her today! Her win is my win! I am so happy that she finally got to see the word "pregnant" without the "not" in front of it! I can't think of anyone who deserves to be happier then her right now! I am going to do some serious praying that god doesn't take this one back. She deserve this chance to be a mommy dammit! I want to keep her on team prego! I want her to have the joy in my soul that I have. Andrew is the most wonderful gift I have ever received. For all those women out there that struggle for the same gift, deserve their chance! So, I am just so very happy that Lisa is getting hers!

More of Drew's Room

DISCLAIMER: Don't give me any crap for being in a room that is being painted! I have read all baby books known to man and talked with my Doc - the room was WELL ventilated and Jerry did most of the work.

Now, with that said.....Jerry and I set forth on another project in Andrew's room this weekend! Since moving out of that room, we never really gave it a GREAT cleaning and when we did - we found that the paint needed some touch up and the windowsills needed some mold protection added. So, on Sunday we moved all of the furniture into the center of the room and went to work. We washed all the walls, windows and more and went to work on touching up some of the yellow and retouching all the white trim and windows. The room looks a million times better!!!! I also went to work on creating the curtain panels to match the valences that came with our bedset. We picked the fabric out together and Jer hung the rods last night. We think it looks AMAZING, but we are a little biased :o)

We are so addicted to this room. I wish we had endless money and time to spend in/on it!

Hi Drew!
Jerry said I looked to serious in all my pics - so I gave him some JAZZ HANDS!

Some Belly Pics

I have been asked a lot over email for some bump pics...I would say my bump is more like a hill at this point. I have yet to break the 10lb. weight gain mark - but I am sure all that will catch up with me in due time. Below is a pic of me at 5 mos and I am wearing a joke t-shirt from Spencer's gifts. And I have been asked if this is actually a picture of my baby.....oh don't cha just love stupid questions!

Updates to Drew's Room

We are tickled BLUE! We not only found our crib, but we also got our changing table at an amazing price as well! So Andrew's room is coming along nicely and we are so excited! Here are a few snaps of the work in progress! I am already so addicted to this room! I wish I had my glider so I could just chill in there and soak it all in! It is cheerful and calming all in the same sense. I know he is just going to love it! Our lil monkey is going to love his jungle!

We will be posting more pics as we add new stuff! Most of the accessories are on our registry at BabySuperMall.com, but we plan to add new curtains, some fresh trim paint and possibly a ceiling fan since Drew is coming at the start of the summer. Stay tuned!

It's A Boy!

Ok, so I am a little late in posting this news and the pics. But I have been swamped and the days have gotten away from me. I guess I am just practicing for when he is here!

We found out on Tuesday that our lil Peanut is a BOY! He measured right on target, weighing 11oz at the time and all his vital organs and digits are where they are supposed to be and working great! So we are just so FLIPPING thrilled! We both knew in our hearts that this little tyke was a boy, but modern day science just confirmed it! So, we can now call him by his name - Andrew David Blount (but call him Andy and I will have to cut you)! I cannot wait to meet him! He isn't even born yet and I already do not want him to grow up! I am feeling more and more like a mom every day! While Jerry is day dreaming of "dude time," I just dreaming of my lil man and all the hug and kisses I am going to shower all over him! I feel so blessed to be prego, but I feel so acomplished as a wife to give my Hubby his lil man! I can't wait to see the two of them together and just laugh at all the mehem they will get into! I can already see Andrew playing in Dad's tools and running around the backyard getting all muddy with Turbo! Whata blessing!

I signed up for prenatal aquatic exercise at a local swim center. I start this Friday and I cannot wait to experience being around other pregos! Up until now, I have felt pretty unattached to the whole sisterhood! I don't even approach other pregos in public. But now I will be exercising with a group every Friday and I am so anxious! I hope to meet some awesome ladies and trade some battle stories :o) Other then that, I am feeling great. Despite the constant heartburn, I feel fantastic! If being prego felt like this all the time, I would be this way all the time! Andrew is kicking all the time and it is such a bizzaire, but wonderful feeling! I am going to miss it when he is not in there anymore...but at least I will have him in my arms for the rest of my life :o)

Anywho - here are the pics. They were snapped at 19wks 5 days.

New Year, New Beginning

So, Jer and I had made the resolve to clean out the "crack den" we had going and start cleaning and prepping it for the nursery. Now, I do not want to give you the wrong impression that we owned a room in which we smoked crack in. However, we decided at the beginning of this pregnancy to switch our bedroom from the middle room to the corner room, and in the process threw every misc. item, clothes and boxes in the middle room...making it look like a house that had been vacated in the middle of the night due to an eviction...it really looked like a disaster only suitable to housing junkies - not a baby. So we cleared it out and drug in the hand carved cradle that Jer's Aunt gave to us, pulled our new bedding set out of the packaging and hung it up to air out....and so Peanut's nursery has begun.

Upon pulling out the bedding we also discovered a wondrous thing - WE DO NOT HAVE TO REPAINT THE ROOM!!!!! When we moved in, we decided to paint our room a cheery, sunny yellow and thankfully enough it matches the bed set theme we picked out! It actually mellows the color out quite a bit! So instead of priming and repainting the room, we are just going to add some sage accents here and there and tie it all together! We found ourselves just going into the room from time to time later in the day and admiring it for what it was and what it was about to become. It is officially my FAVORITE room in the house! I can't wait to get my glider so I can just sit in there and chill-out and drink it all in.

I am finding it hard to not go in there now and just nest! lol.
